Decatur Police–“Drug Take Back” Saturday, September 27th from 10am-2pm

This Saturday, September 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. drop by and turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal in front of the Decatur Police Department, located at 420 West Trinity Place, Decatur, GA 30030. The goal of the DEA “Drug Take Back” program is to prevent pill abuse and theft by giving everyone the opportunity to turn in potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for disposal. Decatur last participated in the drug take back program in April 2014 and took in 150 pounds of prescription drugs.

Decatur Heights Neighborhood Association (DHNA) Meeting Saturday, September 27th at 4:30pm

Agenda to include:A. DHNA Matters: overview of DHNA’s purpose, bylaws; membership enrollment;
call for officer candidates for DHNA Board
B. A Neighborhood Conversation: neighbors’ perspectives, goals for our evolving neighborhood

C. Community News, Wrap-up
This will be the first of two DHNA Meetings where neighbors may enroll in order to be eligible to vote in the Board election in November. 2014 Membership will be free. All neighbors are encouraged to participate in the DHNA.

Decatur Heights is Hosting a Bicycle Safety and Registration Event, September 20th, 10am-Noon

Join the Decatur Police Department and Decatur Active Living  for a Bicycle Registration and Safety Event.

Register your bike, receive a helmet safety check, and ride the “safety course” to learn bike safety, hand signals, rules of the road.

Also, Bicycle South staff will be conducting bike checks. If it rains, we will move from the parking lot to inside of the gym.

This event is offered FREE to the community! *Children must be accompanied by an adult.
